This website is intentionally simple and privacy-friendly.

No analytics or advertising

The site itself does not use analytics, advertising networks, tracking pixels, embedded social-media widgets, or third-party web fonts.

University of Hamburg logo

The University of Hamburg logo shown on the homepage is loaded as an image from Wikimedia Commons. When that image is requested, Wikimedia may receive standard connection information such as your IP address and browser details. All other core website assets are hosted locally.

Cookies and local storage

The site does not set tracking cookies. If you use the light/dark theme switch, your preference is stored locally in your browser using local storage.

Server logs

Your hosting provider may process standard server-log information such as IP address, time of access, requested page, browser information, and referrer for technical operation and security. The exact retention and processing depend on the hosting provider you choose.

Email contact

The public pages do not contain my email address as plain text. The email link is reconstructed in your browser with JavaScript to reduce harvesting by simple spam bots. If you contact me by email, the information you provide is processed for the purpose of responding to your message.

Links to journal websites, ORCID, Google Scholar, the University of Hamburg, and other external services are ordinary links. Their privacy policies apply after you leave this website.
